Welcome to our Biophilic Bungalow project
Our family is on a journey to renovate a California Bungalow located in Hampton, Victoria.
We are seeking a home that is not only wonderful for us to live in, but also brings us and our community closer to nature, and makes nature healthier. This need we all have to connect with nature is called biophilia.
Our aspiration is for this home to be energy positive, carbon-neutral, water-resilient, healthy and nature positive
We are targeting certification under the Living Building Challenge (Core + Energy Petal) as well as incorporating many of the design principles of the low energy Passive House standard.
We hope that our house project will inspire and challenge others to do the same.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Bunnurong people of the Kulin Nation who have lived and cared for the land on which our house stands for many thousands of years. We value the deep connection they have with Country and appreciate the knowledge and wisdom that they share with us and many others as we being the process of healing the land and the life which it sustains.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
We recognise that First Nations sovereignty over this land has never been ceded.
